Genesis 6:8 "But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the Lord..."
Grace has been available since the beginning. Grace is not a new thing for the NEw Testament Saints.
Within that generation, God found Noah to be righteous and blameless. Then Grace gave Noah instructions to be saved, him and his whole family.
Are you making every effort to walk rightous and blameless? Are you striving for righteous behavior? Do we have the ability to walk righeously and blameless? Yes, that is what Grace does for us.
Genesis 6:9 (Amplified Bible) This is the history of the generations of Noah. Noah was a just and righteous man, blameless in his [evil] generation; Noah walked [in habitual fellowship] with God.
Just as Zachariah and Elizabeth were found righteous (The parents of JOhn the baptist).
Luke 1:6 And they both were righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and requirements of the Lord. Noah walked in habitual fellowship with God. You see, salvation is a continuous relationship with God in obedience. God gave Noah instructions to built an ark.
Thus begins Noah's work of obedience. Noah had to work and build a boat so that him and his family would be saved. God did not just drop an ark on his lap. God required him to work for approximately around 120 years building the ark.
Many people and churches focus on how long it took Noah to build the ark. Many people and churches focus on the animals and how they went in the boat two by two. But they forget to teach about the love, mercy, and long suffering of God. They do not focus on the fact that God gave the world about 120 years to repent.
Genesis 6:22 "22Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.
Noah had to do ALL that God commanded him so he can be saved. Nothing has changed and God does not change. We must do all that He commands us in His Word so that we may be saved. If Noah sat on his couch and watched sports and watched tv with his free time, even though, he was given grace, he and his family would not have been saved.
While God was giving the earth time to repent and while Noah was waiting for God to deliver him from the evil world, he was working. Working on the instructions given to him by God.
God saved Noah and His family from the flood but Noah had to work in obedience so they would not die with the wicked generation. Our walk as a Christians is no different. Salvation was foreshadowed with the deliverance of God's people in Egypt. They were saved with the blood of the lamb posted on their door as the angel of death passed by. But after being saved from death , they had to get on the move and out of Egypt.
Going through the Red Sea is a foreshadow of water baptism. The pillar of cloud is the representation of the Holy Spirit. The pillar of fire is the representation of His Fire baptism. Do you not see the it brethren? And in their journey, many rebelled. Salvation is a process that must be completed, we must persevere until the end!! Many have fallen away. Many are deceived.
James 2:26 (Amplified Bible)For as the human body apart from the spirit is lifeless, so faith apart from [its] works of obedience is also dead.
Repent and return to your first love if you have fallen away. Repent and return to your first love if you are in disobedience. Return to your King of Kings for HE is returning. You must be consumed with Him. Nothing must take precedence over HIM. Because we are saved, we are keepers of His commandments. Because we LOVE HIM, we OBEY!
John 14:15 - 15 If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.
Ask Him for His Truth!! Ask Him to put you in agreement with Him! May the Glory all go to Him and Him alone! Praise His Holy Name!
