Our church encourages us that we record a rhema (the specific or defined Word of the Lord given to you) that we recieve from the Lord every time we read the bible. Have you ever written down a phone number, someone's name or perhaps an inspirational thought or idea you wanted to remember, only to find that you misplaced the slip of paper on which you recorded the information?

Worse still, has God ever spoken something to your heart and after a short period of time you can hardly bring to mind the details of what He said because you didn't write them down?

A journal will assist you you in keeping notes of your journey with God. You may be reading a verse from the bible and the particular verse applies to a situation you are going through in your life. Its important to record it and write a practical application of what you will do in response to the particular situation that you are going through based on the Word that you have just recieved.

I was going through my journal and wanted to share with you one of the rhemas i recieved from the Lord. Its from the book of 1 Corinthians 2:5

1 Corinthians 2:5

"That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.."

My Understanding

Faith in God is what its all about. God is the God of the impossible, of the supernatural. What is impossible with men is possible with God.

At times i entertain words of discouragement from people close to me and maybe even my church members. I may see my friends blessed material wise and the devil will throw darts in my head to try and make me jealous or covet. But i stand on God's promise that He is able to provide for me more that I could ever think or imagine

The God who spoke the world into existence is able to provide for me all that I ask in faith from Him according to His Word. I can listen to the advise of men, but should discern their words with the mind of Christ if its scripturally sound

Practical Response to the Scripture

• Write down all the things I am believing for this year and place them before God in prayer believing that they will come to pass
• Put an action plan behind what i am believing for and execute it and not just sit around waiting for things to fall on my lap.
  
• Whenever i get a discouraging word from someone  i need to remember what God says about it.
