The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld a ban on what amounted to the most gruesome form of infanticide in civilization—partial birth abortion—and reaction to the decision should be a real eye-opener to Americans.

Partial birth abortion is a procedure where the baby is essentially born and as the baby’s head begins to leave the birth canal, the doctor then stabs the baby in the back of the head through the brain and kills it.

Leftist politicians reacted strongly to the Supreme Court decision by condemning it as a violation of the Constitutional right of a woman to have her baby killed in such a brutal way.

Leading Democratic Presidential contender, New York Senator Hillary Clinton said, “This decision marks a dramatic departure from four decades of Supreme Court rulings that upheld a woman's right to choose and recognized the importance of women's health…

It is precisely this erosion of our constitutional rights that I warned against when I opposed the nominations of Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito." Another Democratic Presidential hopeful, Illinois Senator Barack Obama said,

“I strongly disagree with today’s Supreme Court ruling, which dramatically departs from previous precedents safeguarding the health of pregnant women.”
